Clear Steps. Trusted Process.

Our Process for Mold Remediation

Mold remediation requires more than surface cleaning—it takes strategy, skill, and certified care. At Integrity Restoration & Remodeling, we follow a tested process to ensure the job is done right:

  1. Assessment and Inspection
Visual inspection and, if required, lab testing to evaluate the extent of mold growth and pinpoint the source of moisture.
  2. Containment and Safety Controls
We isolate the affected using containment systems to prevent spores from spreading during cleaning. HEPA filtration devices are installed, and dehumidifiers are used when needed to dry wet materials and maintain a humidity level that does not support mold growth.
  3. Removal and Surface Cleaning
Removal - Materials infested with actual growth, called Condition 3, or blocking access to moldy spaces inside walls and ceilings, are neatly removed, bagged or wrapped, and disposed of.
  4. Drying and Dehumidification
Clean Like You’ve Never Seen - We use a robust cleaning process that includes the application of oxidizing agents to remove growth, agitation with brushes, vacuuming with filtered high-powered vacuums, and wiping everything in the work area that can tolerate water.
  5. Sanitation
After the cleaning process, if authorized, we apply a biocide per label directions in case of any residual bacteria.
  6. Sealer
On most jobs, we use a clear, breathable antimicrobial sealer to limit regrowth of mold if the material gets wet again.
  7. Quality Control Inspection and Testing
A thorough visual inspection is followed by our internal surface testing protocol, samples are taken to a local lab for analysis, and jobs are deemed “pass” or “fail” based on our written internal quality control standard. If they fail, we evaluate and correct and re-test at our own expense on most projects.

Our certified team follows the ANSI/IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation and treats every property as if it were our own.

Common Questions about Mold Remediation

What are the signs that I might have mold in my home?
Look for musty odors, visible spots on walls or ceilings, or recent water damage. Mold often hides in places you can’t see.

Is mold dangerous to my health?
Yes. Mold exposure can cause respiratory issues, especially for people with allergies, asthma, or weakened immune systems. Early removal is important.

Can I remove the mold myself?
Small surface mold may be manageable, but deeper issues require professional remediation. We’ll let you know if DIY is safe or not after an inspection.

What standards do you follow for mold removal?
We follow the ANSI/IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation, the industry’s top guideline approved by the American National Standards Institute.

Do I need mold testing before remediation?
Not always. If mold is visible, testing may not be necessary. But if the source is unknown, for real estate transactions or health-related concerns, lab testing can help.
